I’ve always liked taking photos of people in candid moments, having been gifted my first point-and-shoot camera when I was 13 years old. However, it was not until 2024 that I purchased my first DSLR camera and was exposed to the art of taking photos that tell a story. I truly appreciate the numerous training sessions, workshops, and field trips sponsored by the Barbados Photographic Society, which have moved me from being overwhelmed with the plethora of settings on a DSLR camera, to manipulating said settings to capture the mood and essence of the scene. My love for taking candid shots has expanded into street and macro photography, and now I’ve fallen in love with black and white imagery. Photography is indeed an art form worth pursuing.
