Sabine was handed her very first camera, a Nikormat, at age 15 by her father.
Unfortunately, he never taught her how to use it properly and so the camera was never taken out of auto mode.
On a school course, as a teenager, she had a short introduction to film development and a few hints about composition. Over the decades she had various cameras and has taken pictures of everything and nothing all her life. Her passion however only really developed when she did an online iPhone photo course in 2017. Since then she has been part of various photo groups, done numerous online courses with a few different photographers and swapped the iPhone for a mirrorless camera. During Covid, she also did an online course “Seeing Through Photographs” with MOMA.
Her main interest lies in street portraits and documentary photography. She is always searching for that special light in her photographs.
Sabine moved to Barbados in 2023 with her husband and joined BPS in the same year.
