Bradley Benskin is a Barbadian photographer, cultural practitioner, photography educator, and photojournalist whose work examines everyday life in Barbados and the wider Caribbean through documentary, street, landscape, fine art, and wildlife photography. His practice is grounded in observation and attention, working with real moments, natural interactions, and the subtle details that shape how people experience place, identity, and community.  Over more than three decades of photographic practice, Benskin has developed an approach informed by photojournalism, with a consistent focus on timing, clarity, and authenticity. His images are often drawn from ordinary environments, where unscripted moments and quiet gestures become central to the construction of visual narratives.

He is President of the Barbados Photographic Society, where he leads initiatives in photographic education, public engagement, and the advancement of photography as both an artistic practice and a documentary tool in Barbados. He is also Team Captain of the Barbados national team for the World Photographic Cup 2026, representing Barbados in one of the world’s premier international photography competitions. His work has been exhibited internationally across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean, and has been featured in Dodho Magazine, Digital Camera World, Amateur Photographer, and PetaPixel. These exhibitions and publications have positioned his practice within a broader international photographic dialogue while remaining firmly rooted in Caribbean lived experience.  Benskin is a three-time recipient of the NIFCA Bronze Award in photography and is featured in the National Commemorative Independence Catalogue published by the National Cultural Foundation in recognition of Barbados’ 55th Anniversary of Independence. These recognitions reflect his contribution to Barbados’ cultural and photographic landscape.

He holds a Diploma in Photography with Distinction from Shaw Academy and completed the Photography Basics and Beyond: From Smartphone to DSLR specialization at Michigan State University. He is a member of the Guild of Photographers (UK) and an Associate Member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  Across his practice, Benskin continues to work with photography as a way of paying attention to people, place, and the everyday moments that often go unnoticed, but which together form the texture of Caribbean life.
