Welcome New Members! Recap of the Introduction to Photography Course

The Barbados Photographic Society (BPS) is thrilled to welcome a new wave of enthusiastic photographers to our community! Recently, we held an informative Introduction to Photography course designed to equip beginners with the fundamental skills to embark on their photographic journey.
Led by the experienced Mr. Markley Bryan, the course offered a comprehensive introduction to the world of photography. Mr Bryan was ably assisted by a team of passionate instructors, Mr Niaz Dokrat, Mr Charles McClean, Mr Bradley Benskin, and Mr Hugh Walker. A big thank you to course coordinators Mrs. Sybill Edghill and Cheryl McCollin-Walker for their dedication in making the course a success.
The course structure provided a well-rounded learning experience. Theoretical sessions were held at the conveniently located Supreme Court Complex on Whitepark Road. There, participants gained a strong foundation in camera functions, exposure settings, composition techniques, and more.
To put theory into practice, the course ventured out to capture the beauty of Barbados. Queens Park provided a picturesque backdrop for participants to experiment with their newfound skills, while Oistins Fishing Village offered a vibrant cultural scene to explore.
We’re delighted to report that all participants completed the course and were presented with a Certificate of Participation by BPS President, Mr. Bradley Benskin.
This certificate is a testament to their commitment to learning and serves as a stepping stone on their photographic adventure. We encourage all our new members to continue exploring their creativity and share their photographic journey with the BPS community.
Stay tuned for upcoming workshops and events designed to further hone your skills and connect you with fellow photography enthusiasts in Barbados!
