Long Pond is an estuary located off the beaten path in the parish of St. Andrew on the northeast coast of Barbados just off the Ermie Bourne Highway.

Waiting with anticipation as a new dawn approached the members of the Barbados Photographic Society participated in their first field trip for the year 2024 to Long Pond.

Long Pond is home to many types of flora and fauna. The area is carpeted with lush grasses, budding with flowers of various shades and hues and mangrove plants. The abundance of animal life ranges from birds and insects to sea creatures and even the occasional grazing mammal.
Our fifteen-member party thoroughly enjoyed the early morning experience undoubtedly punctuated with stellar photographic opportunities.
