Barbados celebrated its Remembrance Day Parade on Sunday, March 11, 2024. The annual Parade is
held to remember the sacrifice of those soldiers who gave their lives in WWI and WWII.
The President,
Her Excellency The Most Honourable Sandra Mason, Acting Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw, Members
of Cabinet, Parliamentarians and the Diplomatic Core attended the service.
On Parade were the Barbados Police Service and the Barbados Defense Force. The unarmed units on
Parade included the Fire and Prison Services, together with the Boy Scouts and Girl Guide Associations.
Heroes Square was the venue for the Parade and the various units marched onto the parade area to the
music of the Barbados Police Service Band and the Barbados Defense Force Band, which included
members of the Barbados Cadet Core Band.
The President and Acting Prime Minister led the dignitaries, which included the Chief Justice, laying
wreaths at the Cenotaph, which bears the names of the fallen soldiers. Leader of the Opposition,
together with representatives of the Barbados Legion also laid wreaths. A team from the Barbados Photographic Society were on site to record the highlights of the day.
The President and the Acting Prime Minister then inspected the Legionnaires.
